1. HDMI version 1.1

This is the first version of HDMI. The original version of HDMI 1.1 is the most. High only supports 1080i standard signal, but can not fully support 1080P high definition specification. In the past few years, it can basically meet the needs of users. Today, only supporting 1080i format can not meet the needs of audiovisual enthusiasts.

The original version 1.1 of HDMI is very good, although there are some problems in compatibility, supporting 800 *600, 1024 *768 and other standard resolutions. Even with the 1366 *768 resolution used by low-end flat-panel TVs at this stage, the original HDMI excuse is no longer acceptable for compatibility. What's more, LCD TV equipped with this excuse can't perform point-to-point output when broadcasting high-definition signals, and the pictures presented will also appear blurred, inaccurate color and other issues.

2. HDMI version 1.2

The introduction of HDMI version 1.2 largely solves the problems of low resolution and poor compatibility with computer devices supported by HDMI 1.1. HDMI Standard Organization launched HDMI 1.2 standard in 2005. This interface based on t-tOMtT2 standard achieves 165 MHz bandwidth on single link, can provide 4.95 Gbps data transmission rate, and can fully support 1080p full HD video signal.

By modifying the standard, HDMI version 1.2 also enhances the compatibility of PC display interface, which can easily support all display resolutions including 1366 *768, and can fully support the point-to-point mode of display screen.

3. HDMI Version 1.3

HDMI version 1.3 is the most widely used standard nowadays, which is also the HDMI interface used by most flat-panel TV. HDMI version 1.3 brings the greatest change. The biggest change is to increase the frequency of single link bandwidth to 340 MHz, which will enable these LCD televisions to obtain 10.2 Gbps of data transmission. The line of version 1.3 consists of four transmission channels, one of which is clock channel, the other three are TMDS channel (minimizing transmission differential signal), and their transmission speed. They are 3.4 GB BPS. So 3 pairs is 3*3.4=10.2 GPBS, which can greatly expand the 24-bit color depth supported by HDMI version 1.1 and 1.2 to 30, 36 and 48 bits (RGB or YCbCr). 4. HDMI Version 1.4

HDMI Forum Inc. also points out that HDMI 2.0 will not replace HDMI 1.x, but based on the enhancement of HDMI 1.x. Any device that wants to support HDMI 2.0 must first guarantee basic support for HDMI 1.x.
